FAQs

Whether you have been to see a physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or sports therapist before; going to a new clinic for treatment for the first time you can always have questions. If your question is not answered below, please feel free to get in contact and ask one of our specialists.

What should I expect in my first session?
Upon your first session you can expect a full consultation and assessment of the injured area, your movement and posture in order to determine an accurate diagnosis of your condition. A treatment plan will then be outlined and in most cases treatment will be given during your first session.
What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing such as a baggy top, tracksuit or shorts and trainers / footwear you are able to easily move around in. Practitioners will need to conduct an assessment of your movement and posture and will be required to move different areas of the body. These areas will need to be visible and accessible. Towelling will be provided for added comfort and privacy where needed.

How long do sessions last?

The first appointment will involve a thorough assessment and diagnosis of your condition and will last 50 minutes. Follow up sessions will vary dependent on your treatment and usually last 45 minutes

How many sessions will I need?

Your treatment will be tailored specifically to your individual needs. With this in mind it is difficult to advise on how many sessions will be required in advance. At your first appointment your Injury Clinic therapist will suggest the number of treatments you will require based on a thorough assessment. Generally our clients experience significant results as follows:

Minor: 3-6 Injury Clinic Sessions

Moderate: 6-12 Injury Clinic Sessions

Major: 12-15 Injury Clinic Sessions

Complex: 15+ Injury Clinic Sessions

You can be assured that at The Injury Clinic Market Harborough you will never be over or under-treated. Any further sessions required after the initial recommendation will be discussed with you the patient.

Can I stop at anytime?

Yes, you can stop your treatment at any time; however we do recommend that you complete the planned course of treatment as some treatment effects are temporary and require repeated sessions in order to have a long-term affect.

You are welcome to return for treatment at anytime. If this is longer than 6 weeks a reassessment of your condition will be required by your practitioner.

Will treatment hurt?

Your practitioner will give you clear guidelines on what to expect before and after a treatment method. Some treatment may be uncomfortable however; at no point should you be unable to tolerate the level of discomfort. If you have any concerns please discuss these with the practitioner.

Can I bring someone with me?

You are more than welcome to have someone accompany you to your treatement. In the case of patients under the age of 18 or someone with special needs a chaperone is compulsory.

How Can I Pay?

You can pay for your appointment by cash, debit/credit card or Apple-Pay.

We offer both pay as you go (PAYG) and treatment package rates. Please ask a member of our team about these.

Do You Take Insurance?

In order to be able to offer the standard of care and services that we provide for our clients here at the clinic, we do not take any private medical insurance work and all our services are self paid for by our clients.

If you have a private healthcare cash plan* you may be eligible to claim back some of the cost of your treatment through receipt of payment from the clinic. If this is something that you require then please make the clinic aware of this before booking.

You can see more info on our insurance payment policy here.

Are there any age restrictions?
No, at The Injury Clinic Market Harborough we treat people of all ages. Those under the age of 18 we ask to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
