Request Appointment

We’ve been contacted by numerous people over the past few weeks all wanting to know, “what happens if I get aches and pains during lockdown?”

This concern is genuine and understandable right now.

A few weeks ago my little boy fell off his bike and in the initial panic of “do we need to take him to hospital to get checked over?” it dawned on me – is that even an option right now?

This got me thinking about our clients too. Injuries and conditions that were troublesome before lockdown don’t disappear overnight and those thrown into a different routine are now starting to develop new issues too.

So how can you still get help if you’re in pain or discomfort during lockdown?

The answer: Book an online video or phone appointment.

It’s important to us and you that we maintain our service and support you in progressing through or getting started on your treatment plan despite the current situation.

That’s why we have set up The Injury Clinic Online Appointment Service

This means that an appointment with us can now be carried out using simple to use videocall technology such as Zoom, Skype and FaceTime or over the phone if preferred, where you will be able to speak with one of the Injury Clinic team.

During these appointments you will receive:

  •         An assessment of your condition, symptoms and function.
  •         Advice and guidance on the best strategies to help manage your condition.
  •         A personalised corrective exercise programme.
  •         Ongoing support and guidance.

What other people are saying about our online appointment service?

We’ve been helping people via our online service for some weeks now and here’s what some of them have to say:

Got to say I was pretty worried that my appointments had to be cancelled (although understandably so) but being able to still connect over video call has been a real saver. Thank you for doing this.
“ I just wanted to thank you for the assessment and advice you gave me for my back. Initially I was sceptical of how much help I could actually get over video as I’m used to hands on treatment. But I have to say after just three days of following your advice and exercises I’m already starting to make progress!
“ I received a really thorough assessment, better than most in person assessments I’ve had elsewhere and the exercise app is just fab.

Being in my 70s I’m not technology savvy in the slightest but I was pleasantly surprised at home easily I was able to do this.

Common Misconceptions with Online Appointments

Online is a not as good as face to face because you can’t touch me – A major part of your recovery is finding out and understanding what is going on and what you can do about it. This is done in our assessments where we listen to your story and ask you certain questions to establish a history. The most effective part of the treatment is where we teach you about your problem and provide you with the right exercises and make a plan going forwards. All of this can be done online just as effectively.

I’d rather wait till I can come in face to face – with the current situation and the nature of our work this could be several weeks or longer; that’s more time worrying about your problem and not enjoying gardening or being able to get outdoors for a walk or run. The most common reason we hear from people for not doing their exercises or not seeking help for their problem is they haven’t got time. Many of us have had the gift of time recently thrust upon us, so why not use that time wisely to solve your problem.

I’m not very good with technology – we mainly use Zoom or Facetime to do our online appointments these are free to download you just need an email address to sign up to them. We send you a link via email, you just need to click on the link to access your appointment. To join the appointment you just need a phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and enough room to move around – It’s as simple as that.
